THIRD ANNUAL CANCER EVENT
Each year since our Grant studio opened in 2016, we have hosted an Annual Cancer Event to give cancer survivor’s back their brows.
Our Annual Cancer Event started in 2016 after the loss of a dear client and close friend to cancer. In an effort to collaborate as a team and give back; we realized that giving back the best way we know how to would be the perfect legacy to carry on annually as a local business. Microblading has become a popular service among women and men who have lost their brows due to Chemotherapy, radiation, other cancer treatments, and alopecia. Offering services like Microblading, Micropigmentation and Areola Restoration has allowed us to give women and men back something that has been taken from them.
Our event works through nominations; One nominee per Brows by G Microblading Specialist is chosen to receive a complementary Microblading service on the day of our annual event. Once the event date is chosen, Manitobans are encouraged to nominate an individual who has gone through a battle with cancer. The nomination form includes a space to share the nominee’s cancer journey as well as a space to upload a photo of their nominee. The stories and photos are shared with our Brows by G team to ensure the nominee’s stories are heard and recognized. On the day of the event, our Provencher studio is closed, decorated and our team comes together to spend the day getting to know our amazing nominees and their plus ones.
Our 2018 event winners were: Michelle Roth, Shawna Schimnowsky, Jordanna Sherman, Patti Stromberg, Crystal Lesage, Jessica Dyck, and Donna Jorgensen.
In addition to the complementary Microblading service, nominees and their plus ones are sent home with a goodie bag filled with local self-care items, treats, gift cards and coupons! This year, we had an overwhelming amount of donations that helped us create a bonus grand prize draw for some larger items.
We would like to take the time to thank all of the individuals and local businesses that donated to our event:
G is for Glasses, Waterfront Laser Aesthetics, Grey Owl Coffee, Bothwell Cheese, Keystone Insurance Agencies, Beth Thrall, Spa Botanica, Constance Popp, Lend Me Some Sugar, Jenna Rae Cakes, Chaise Café, The Bra Bar, Taylor Capulong (Strings), Organic Tan, Larkspur and Lane, and Nikki Budz (Nikki’s Beauty Bar).
Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination, to all of our supporters, nominees and everyone currently fighting a battle with cancer. We are proud to do what little we can to give back to such a deserving and supportive community.
