Everything you NEED to know to keep your Vacation Brows on Fleek

Does the cold have you dreaming about being on a beach somewhere warm? Yeah, us too… If you’re lucky and are actually jetting off somewhere this winter you’re going to want to make sure your brows are photo-ready throughout the whole trip (not just day one)!

We’ve put together a little guide to ensure your brows are well-kept and ready for the sun so you can get the most out of your service (and pictures)!

  1. Picking your Service ahead of time

Start by deciding how long you want your brows to last and what look you’re hoping to achieve. Don’t leave making your appointment until the last minute because based on what you want, you may need some time to heal your brows before getting them wet or exposing them to too much sun.

Brow Henna is a great option for a long lasting tint (it typically lasts 4-6 weeks) but be sure to get it done a couple days before you leave so the colour doesn’t fade at all if you’re spending a lot of time dipping in the ocean!

Brow Lamination is the best for a long lasting hold (which means you don’t even have to worry about doing your brows on vacation). It creates a fluffy, full looking brow that’ll last you weeks so you can simply go from your bed to the beach without worrying about taming your brows in the process.

Microblading and Micropigmentation are semi-permanent tattoo services that are sure to take your vacation brows to the next level, making them truly effortless. Just be sure to give your brows at least 10 days to properly heal and follow the aftercare instructions carefully before you jet off. Taking care of your cosmetic tattoos in the sun is the same as regular tattoos and just takes a little bit of extra care and attention to ensure they don’t fade or become irritated!

  1. SPF (because there’s skin under those luscious brows)

It’s so important to protect your skin from harmful UV rays and this also means the areas of your face that you wouldn’t necessarily expect (like your brows). You want to keep your skin as healthy as possible so your brows can last as long as possible! Ultra violet rays fade pigments and ink so it’s important to make sure there’s a barrier of SPF acting as a shield. A hat and some big sunglasses are a bonus and will guarantee the sun doesn’t have any damaging effects on your fresh brows.

  1. Hydration is key

Do you ever feel like your skin is incredibly dry after hopping off a flight? The circulating air on planes is super drying and it’s important to moisturize in order to keep healthy, glowing skin! Hydrating your face should include hydrating your brows so be sure you keep quality facial moisturizer on hand throughout your trip (preferably one with SPF) in case you feel your skin drying out. Drink lots of water (no, margaritas don’t count) and don’t forget your vitamins at home! You will thank yourself later for putting the extra time into taking care of your skin now.
